Musikanten Montana Continues 20th Anniversary Season

On Sunday January 21 Artistic Director Kerry Krebill will conduct the Musikanten Montana chamber chorus and numerous guest artists in a concert celebrating the season of Epiphany – the coming of the Magi and celebration of Light.

Featuring music of Benjamin Britten, Francis Poulenc, Hugo Distler, Buxtehude, Handl and Whitacre, compositions are from the late 1500s to 2001, with texts from the Gospels, medieval English and German, and the beloved Christmas chorale Lo How a Rose.

Organist Wendy Yuen will accompany the Buxtehude cantata “Das Neugeborne Kindelein” and pianist Chas Elliott will play for the women’s chorus in selections from Britten’s “Ceremony of Carols.” Soloists include tenor Kevin Sutton and contralto Anne Kania.

The concert is at 4 pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Cathedral at 511 N. Park. Suggested donation is $25, students free. For more information see www.musikantenmt.org.
