Most of the route is on gravel roads, with a short stretch of singletrack in Trout Creek Canyon. There is also a cyclocross race held on the same date, the Spirit of 76. The 'cross race is two laps on the same route.

Helena boasts a trail at the end of every street and a brewery at the end of every ride. With over 400 miles of trails in the area, and 80 miles accessible from downtown you can easily explore the nationally recognized mountain biking and hiking trails.
