Ty Walker went missing from his hometown of Roscoe, Montana back in 1972.
He has mysteriously reappeared, crafting sonically rich numbers with a group of what to appear to be extraterrestrials,
calling themselves “The Humanoids” or sometimes referred to as “The Gang of Galactic Ghouls”. It is speculated by some that Ty was abducted by the “Humanoids” and is involuntarily fronting the band. There is also an ongoing mystery of how he has appeared to not have aged a day since his reemergence: one theory is multi-dimensional travel through time and space has allowed Ty to circumvent the aging process.
Ty and the gang possess an eclectic sound ranging from experimental country to psych with hints of folk, soul and gospel. One human said they sound is like “a mixture of Roy Orbison, The Flaming Lips and Ween.”
Produced by Nathan Vanderpool (Fruit Bats, Bonny Light Horseman) and co-produced by Michael Finn (My Morning Jacket, Modest Mouse, First Aid Kit), the Humanoids are releasing their debut LP “Where the Hell Is Roscoe?” in August of 2022. The album was recorded in a chosen geometric dome on a farm outside of Portland, Oregon. The full-length has contributions from fellow humans including Eric Earley (Blitzen Trapper) and Meredith Godreau (Gregory and the Hawk).
They plan on performing the album live around Ty’s home of Montana and surrounding states starting Summer/Fall of 2022.
