“Are We Alone? Astrobiology and the Search for Life in the Universe”. Is it possible that the Earth is not the only planet with life? Is it possible that there are living things on other planets that orbit other stars? In this talk, Dr. Cline will discuss the search for life on Mars, the possibilities of life in the oceans of Jupiter’s moon Europa, and NASA’s current projects for telescopes so powerful that they may soon allow us to discover life on planets orbiting nearby stars.
Originally from Homer, Alaska, Kelly Cline earned his Ph.D. in astrophysics at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2003 and then joined the faculty of Carroll College where he is a professor of mathematics, physics, and astronomy.
