Telling Her Own Tales: Nancy Russell’s Unique Insights into Montana’s Cowboy Artist – guided tour by Mary Jane Bradbury

March 28, @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
Montana Heritage Center - Helena, MT
Free

The Montana Historical Society’s new Charles M. Russell Gallery provides visitors with an unique experience exploring the life and work of this beloved Western icon. This new gallery, however, would be far different without the contributions of Nancy Cooper Russell, wife and business manager of the talented, if largely unambitious, artist. Nancy recognized the genius that Charlie took for granted, and together they created the remarkable legacy that we celebrate today.

But what would Nancy have to say about this beautifully realized exhibit and the way in which Charlie’s story is told? Join scholar and historic interpreter Mary Jane Bradbury as she brings to life the indominable Nancy Russell who, as it turns out, has a few stories of her own to share about Montana’s favorite Cowboy Artist.

This tour is free and limited to 20 participants. Registration is required below.
