Join us for a reception introducing our February guest artist, Liz Cappie- Zoller. Liz Chappie-Zoller is a contemporary equine artist, whose art explores the overlapping edges of diverse cultures, using a unique combination of rural working horses of the American West – ranch, rodeo, and Indian Relay race horses – mashed up with urban graffiti she collects (benches) from trains passing through the remote Missouri River valley of her Montana home.
Her current series, called Wild Fillies Make the Best Horses, features fillies embellished with traditional war paint and symbolic colors, on mashed-up graffiti background patterns inspired by traditional and historic American Indian weaving.
Liz’s artwork will be at the gallery for the entire month of February.
