International Observe the Moon Night
at Montana WILD in Helena
October 1st at 7:30 pm
Join the Helena Astronomical Society, Montana Learning Center and Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks at 7:30 pm on Saturday, October 1st at Montana WILD for International Observe the Moon Night.
International Observe the Moon Night occurs annually when the Moon is around first quarter. A first-quarter Moon offers excellent viewing opportunities along the terminator (the line between lunar night and day), where shadows enhance the Moon’s cratered landscape. Also, as a bonus, Saturn will be high in the autumn Big Sky.
Dress warm. Bring your telescope, binoculars or anything you use to look at our nearest cosmic neighbor. There will be telescope viewing (weather permitting); information about the Moon and how to use a telescope; door prizes and a telescope raffle.
