Genre-Hopping Book Club: “In the Heart of the Sea” by Nathaniel Philbrick.

October 1, @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Lewis and Clark Library - Helena, MT

The oceans was the shared wilderness of America for around 250 years. This book is a true story of the American way in 1819 and nature’s revenge; plus “the custom of the sea” as a fierce way to survive. Free copies of In the Heart of the Sea: The Tragedy of the Whaleship Essex by Nathaniel Philbrick are available at the library.

Step out of your reading comfort zone and try something new! The Genre-Hopping Book Club explores stories (both fiction and nonfiction) through different kinds of books: popular fiction, sci-fi, literary fiction, poetry, nonfiction, essays and more! We will discover how different mediums (books/graphic novels/articles) shape the way stories are told.
