Cohesion Dance Project is celebrating 10 years of Shira Greenberg’s Nutcracker on the Rocks in Helena! Group auditions will be held Monday thru Wednesday, September 2-4, 2024. Those interested in joining the cast for the 10-year celebration production must sign up by September 1 for a group audition time slot.
Shira Greenberg’s Nutcracker on the Rocks is a community-based, rock-n-roll rendition of the traditional holiday classic. Featuring the music of James Brown, Aretha Franklin, The Rolling Stones, Janis Joplin and more, this unique production fuses contemporary dance styles with swing, African, hip hop, and a Harley Davidson on stage, propelling dancers as they amp up the energy and lead audiences on a thrilling journey through the decades. Performances will be Thanksgiving weekend, November 30-December 1, 2024 at the Helena Civic Center.
Whether you’ve danced for years or only in your living room, this is the show for you! Join the energy and excitement of this rockin’ community cast. Welcoming adults and youth, ages 7 and up, of all skill levels and physical abilities, including those with disabilities. No dance experience is required. Have fun, make new friends, be inspired, and dance your heart out this Fall.
Group audition times are based on age and skill level and will include a warm-up and movement sequences similar to the performance. Auditioners do not have to come prepared with any material. Everyone who auditions and can commit to the required rehearsal/performance schedule will be cast.
