Play in Helena

There’s a time and a place for playing around. If you ask us? The place is Helena, and the time is whenever you feel like carving a mountain, ripping a trail, exploring a forest, catching a concert, or spending a day doing whatever it is that makes you feel alive.

Biking

With 75 miles of sweet, sweet dirt, Helena is a biking paradise. We’re a Continental Divide Trail Gateway Community, and recently named a Silver-level Ride Center by the International Mountain Bike Association. The best part—we’re a mountain biker’s best kept secret. Hit the trails without the crowds. Hell yeah.

It would be impossible to experience every beautiful hike in Helena. Mt. Helena and Mt. Ascension offer easy downtown trail access with gratifying vistas. Within a short drive, hike to caves and waterfalls in the Elkhorns or the Big Belt Mountains. Here, beauty is everywhere.

Fishing

Welcome to angler’s paradise. The world-class trout fishing on Helena’s local streams and rivers is so good it’s been called “Troutopia” by fly fishing blogs. Whether you’re on the Missouri (a Blue Ribbon Trout Area), Smith, Blackfoot or Clark Fork rivers—if you’re here to fish, you’re in for a treat.
