The Pioneer Cabin
The Pioneer Cabin

Time: M-F 9-5

The Pioneer Cabin is the oldest documented dwelling in Helena and the only documented miner’s cabin built during the first months after the Last Chance/ Helena discovery. The cabin has been restored to represent a typical home from Montana's Gold Rush era.

The viewing era allows you to peak into the past and see both the original back room built by veteran gold miner, William Butts, and the front room that housed his relatives, a family of five.

The cabin has had many caretakers over the years and continues to withstand the test of time.
