The Lewis & Clark County Historical Society shares the history of local people, communities and events through exhibits, educational programs and public programming. The Society also preserves artifacts and historical materials while supporting organizations that tell the stories of Lewis & Clark County. The Lewis & Clark County History Center, located at 618 Helena Ave. in Helena’s historic Steamboat Block, features community exhibits, the Dennis McMahon Memorial Gallery, an extensive archive and a community events center. The History Center is open Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., and Saturdays, 10 a.m.–3 p.m.
