A Case of the Mondays
Let’s face it, Mondays have had a bad reputation for a while, but we are here to challenge that! A Monday in Helena, Montana has the potential to be one of the best days yet.
For many individuals and businesses, Sundays and Mondays have become a time of rest and relaxation. There are so many opportunities to embrace the quiet and peacefulness. There are not many places left where you can just sit and have a moment to yourself. Helena has some amazing scenic views, whether you’re hiking, biking, walking, or simply taking in the view. One of the only places that is always open is our outdoor spaces, so don’t forget to take advantage of them.
Another outdoor adventure that is available on Mondays is golfing! Helena has some amazing golf courses, such as , Fox Ridge Golf Course, Bill Roberts Golf Course, Norwegian Wood Golf Course. There are also some opportunities for Disc Golf.
If you are looking for an indoor adventure, Stonetree Climbing Center is a great option! Whether you have been climbing your whole life or looking to get started, this is the place for you. As an added bonus, it’s an option regardless of the weather.

A couple of options that are close together are the The Archie Bray Foundation’s Campus and the Montana WILD education center. You can take some time to tour the campus grounds and then head over and learn about some of the wildlife that we have here in Montana! The Archie Bray Foundation’s campus grounds are open 7 days a week for visitors to explore the beauty found on campus, and self-guided tours are an option during daylight hours. On Mondays buildings are closed, however guests are still invited to explore public art, installations and the history scattered throughout. Helena is extremely lucky to have artists from all around the world who come and contribute to the amazing art scene that Helena has. An added bonus for both of these places is that they are free!
A short drive away is Broadwater Hot Springs. A perfect blend of fun and relaxation, and only 10 minutes from downtown! You owe it to yourself to take some time and enjoy a soak.
Speaking of downtown, there are so many options for making your Monday great! Take a stroll down the walking mall or up Reeder’s Alley. Mondays might be a little slower and laid back, but it allows you to truly take in the beauty of the area. One of the hidden gems downtown is the Rathskeller. Hidden beneath the historic walls of The Original Montana Club, The Rathskeller is Helena’s most atmospheric escape — a speakeasy-style bar and restaurant where vintage charm meets modern Montana spirit.
We also highly recommend the free audio tours app! You might think you know everything there is to know about Helena, but we guarantee there is always something new to learn. This allows you to explore at your own pace and however it fits into your schedule.
It is easy to get the Monday blues, but there are endless possibilities! When life gives you Mondays, make them magical!
