Step into the Old West at the General Merc. The western storefront and interior resemble what the Gulch would have looked like over a hundred years ago. It is filled with cozy niches that are perfect places to sip a warm latte, hot cocoa, or an old-fashioned soda while playing scrabble or other board games. Be sure to try one of their signature espresso drinks. The Merc also sells unique cards, local crafts, novelties, candies, and gadgets which make excellent gifts!
Hub Coffee is a great local coffee house that is bright and welcoming located in downtown Helena on Last Chance Gulch. They serve small batch roasted, artisan quality coffee and espresso drinks as well as loose leaf teas and real fruit smoothies. Look for their Signature Hub Sodas as well, you’ll find some interesting, unique flavors you won’t find anywhere else. They serve freshly baked goods, in-house prepared grab & go salads and sandwiches as well as made-from-scratch soups. When the warm weather hits it’s always a treat to have your coffee on the outdoor patio.
Scenic Brew provides top shelf café products with remarkable service. They have a unique environment that draws its inspiration from Montana’s natural beauty. Bring your favorite Montana photo by and they’ll frame it on their customer wall. The interior has a Montana feel with natural elements of stone, reclaimed wood, and concrete. After dinner coffee lovers, mark Scenic Brew on the map, they are open until 7pm.
Nestled in the back of Helena’s Staggering Ox on Euclid Avenue, the Red Atlas is a coffee and wine bar that features live music, comedy and other events on a regular basis. There is a mystic ambiance from the spectacular artwork to the fish aquarium and warm cozy feel. Great chill place to meet for coffee and enjoy your surroundings.
Centrally located right off of Prospect Avenue, 1889 Coffee House has a relaxing and inviting atmosphere which makes it a great spot to meet a friend for coffee, soup or a sandwich. They also have a convenient drive thru to grab a coffee on your lunch break or on your way home from work. Their nitro cold coffee is a wonderful pick me up!
A fantastic mobile coffee shop with a refurbished 58’ Shasta trailer and a mobile coffee cart that provides craft coffee and beverages to Helena and surrounding areas. During the Fall & Winter months they are set up in a pop-up location inside the Ten Mile Creek Brewery located downtown on the Last Chance Gulch walking mall. Exciting news that Montago Coffee will be opening a permanent location in Downtown Helena inside the Independent Building! Open date is TBD but they are anticipating a spring opening.
