Top 5 Places to Beat the Heat and Stay Cool in Helena

Summer is here and the heat is on! Here are the Top 5 places to cool off this summer… 

Splash into summer and cool off at the Last Chance Splash Waterpark & Pool! Located at Memorial Park in the heart of Helena. A great place for the entire family to enjoy. There is nothing better on a hot day than jumping into a cool and rejuvenating pool!  

Want to get out of the heat and do some indoor activities? Flying Giant Adventure Park offers several fun attractions. Adults can jump on trampolines as well as kiddos! They also offer outdoor activities which include Axe-throwing & Batting cages. Additionally, there is also the option to go bowling! The indoor Bowling Alley is just adjacent to the Adventure Park.

Ice cream anyone? Nothing says summer like ice cream from our local Big Dipper or the Great Northern Carousal! Enjoy a scoop of your favorite handcrafted ice cream from the Big Dipper in our downtown walking mall. If you’re up for a little adventure, then look no further and head over to the Great Northern Carousal to catch a ride on one of the 37 hand carved animals on the Carousal while you enjoy your ice cream!

When it is hot outside and the inside does not seem much cooler, take a cool stroll into Montana’s History Museum located next to the Capitol at the Montana Historical Society. Trace Montana’s history and culture with displays of native artifacts of Charles Russell’s art which includes Western paintings and sculptures. Also, look for the Museum Store which features gifts and books related to the history of Montana and the West along with an array of Montana souvenirs.

Have some fun with science! Located in the Great Northern Town Center, Exploration Works has something for kids ages 1-100! Explore interactive activities and exhibits focused on science, technology, engineering, and math. A great place to cool off inside the contemporary museum with features a variety of science-related exhibits and educational programs.
