Explore Safely, Helena
Helena is our home and our pride – filled with some of the best people, businesses, and experiences in the world. That’s why it’s important to protect our community right now. We are fortunate to live in a place that has enough space for continued enjoyment, even during challenging times like COVID-19. Don’t stop exploring; just make sure to keep yourself and others safe while you do it. This will ensure we keep our neighbors healthy, while still being able to take advantage of everything Helena has to offer.
Here are some ideas on how to safely explore in Helena.
Get outside for adventure and space — Outdoor activities like biking, hiking, fishing, hunting, and winter recreation allow plenty of breathing room while still connecting you with our beautiful landscapes.
Play tourist in your own town with self-guided tours — Self-guided tours are a great way to get out and explore, while still keeping your distance from big groups. With all the history, public art, points of interest, and architecture of our community, there is no shortage of tours to choose from!
Kids can still be kids — Helena’s attractions are always a big hit with families with young children. Remind them of the importance of wearing their masks and handwashing, then take them to catch a ride on their favorite animal at the carousel, scarf down a few scoops of ice cream, or attempt a strike at the bowling alley. All attractions are keeping social distancing a priority, so you can feel comfortable as your little ones make memories.
Enjoy tasty bites and brews with safety in mind — Indulging in the delectable eateries and breweries should still be a part of your life! If eating in a restaurant, use your mask upon entry and exit, stay at least 6 feet away from others, wash your hands, and don’t go out if you are sick. Consider ordering takeout or delivery to dine from the safety of your home.
Now is the best time to support local – With safety top-of-mind for everyone, you can still get out and frequent your favorite local shops and small businesses. It’s a great way to help keep our community afloat while treating yourself to some retail therapy.
